An event to remember Judy.

On Sunday 25th of March about 50 members and friends of HBKA attended Hatch End Apiary to participate in an occasion to remember Judy, our dearly departed fellow beekeeper, former Chair of HBKA and, most importantly, our friend. In her memory the Committee agreed to plant two trees on the track leading up to the apiary entrance, replacing trees lost in the past and something Judy was particularly keen to see. Also in tribute, a rustic chair has been commissioned which we hope will be ready in the coming weeks and available for all Hatch End apiary visitors soon.

As depicted in the photographs, everybody was invited to watch as the trees were planted and a few words were spoken, many thanks to Bill for organising the purchase of the trees and bringing along the necessary equipment.

Afterwards we all took a few moments to reflect together and celebrate Judy's contribution to Harrow Beekeepers' Association during her years as a member, and enjoy a cuppa together with homemade cakes, scones, cream and damson jam (made with fruit from the damson tree planted by Judy).

My thanks go to everyone who attended and in so doing made the occasion a special day to remember Judy.
