Beekeeping Beginners Course 2020

The HBKA Beginners Course starts on 21st of March and runs for two weekends. These are held in our Hatch End Apiary where you will learn about and how to handle bees under guidance of our very experienced tutors.

The cost of the course is £140 and includes both Saturday classroom and Sunday morning practical sessions. Hot and cold drinks will be provided :)

At the 2019 AGM held in Hatch End on Saturday 9th November the following HBKA members were nominated, propose, seconded and then duly elected by the membership.

Harrow Beekeeper's Association Centenary Lunch

Over 50 of our members together with friends from neighbouring associations, Harrow-in-Leaf, together with two of our local Councillors attended our Centenary party on Saturday 22nd of June at Hatch End.

SWARMS

Swarming is well underway, and improving weather may see more. Make sure you don't lose half your colony with regular inspections and swarm control, notes regarding this are available here.

Beekeeping Begginners Course 2019

Just a quick update on this year's course. We are now fully booked and no more spaces are avaliable.

 

 

10th March Education event and HBKA birthday celebration

 

Our next Sunday education session on Sunday 10th March at Hatch End Apiary, the closest Sunday to our actual birthday on 8th March 1919.

 

At 11am, Brian is to give a talk about Asian Hornets. He will discuss the important role of beekeepers and the public in looking out Asian Hornets and reporting them if found, as well as how to make Asian Hornet traps.
